John Endacott, head of tax at South West-based chartered accountancy firm PKF Francis Clark, has been honoured with membership of the Council of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT). The CIOT is the leading body in the UK for taxation professionals dealing with all aspects of taxation with a primary purpose to promote education in taxation.
Well known for his expertise across a broad range of family business taxation issues, Mr Endacott specialises in giving tax advice on problems faced at every stage of the owner-man-aged business lifecycle.
He has a particular focus on property-based businesses and advises individuals, trusts and corporates on how best to hold property and other business interests in the UK and overseas. He was named ‘Tax Writer of the Year’ at the Tolley’s Taxation Awards in 2012 following publication of his definitive work Furnished Holiday Lettings: A Tax Guide.
Mr Endacott said: “I am honoured at this invitation to join the CIOT Council. It is a professional body dedicated to education tax professionals which is an area of our work I am passionate about. One of its key aims is to achieve a more efficient and less complex tax system and I think we can all agree to that. I am looking forward to making a positive contribution to the valuable work the CIOT carries out. In particular, I’m very pleased to be based in the South West and to be helping represent member in this region.”
Mr Endacott leads one of the strongest tax teams in the UK based in eight offices across the South West which has won three national tax awards in the last few years.
The CIOT is nationally recognised as the gold standard of UK taxation education supporting 17,000 members and 4,000 students throughout their tax careers through its London-based head office and worldwide network of 40 branches.
