More than 25 entrepreneurs operating mainly in China’s vast machinery and electronics sector formed part of this business delegation. They mainly visited Malta to learn about the business environment and the opportunities the country has to offer when it comes to expansionary business in the Euro-Med region.Malta enterprise hosted a business delegation with support from the Ministry of Finance¸ the Economy and Investment¸ the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office within the Embassy of China in Malta and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME).
An agreement amongst others was that of sharing information on opportunities for the businesses they support¸ organize other similar delegations and assist each other on carrying out market research & in the organisation of business events.
The Chinese Ambassador to Malta H.E. Cai Jinbiao commented on the excellent relations that Malta and China developed over the years and referred to the initiatives being taken to strengthen these bilateral relations.
Kevin J. Borg¸ The Malta Chamber of Commerce¸ Enterprise and Industry General Director addressed the delegates participating in the business seminar¸ which was then followed by more than sixty one-to-one meetings between the Chinese delegates and representatives of local companies with whom possible business opportunities and cooperation were discussed.
The incoming business delegation builds up on other initiatives being taken by Malta Enterprise to boost the commercial relationship with China¸ which amongst others also include an outgoing business delegation to Shanghai and Hong Kong¸ a seminar on doing business in Hong Kong and another incoming business delegation from the Jilin province held earlier this year.
